Who we areTrue Colors Youth and Outreach Center will provide community services to youth in Susquehanna County, PA. The center will provide mental health and drug and alcohol support groups with plans to expand to one-on-one counselling. The culinary program will lead classes to teach youth how to budget for their food, make meals, assist in preparing dinner, serve dinner, and packing left-overs. A health and fitness program will also provide health focused/fun activities for kids to participate in, give guidance in body-positivity and fitness. The performing arts curriculum will teach music, theatre, and build confidence through this medium. This is also an opportunity to teach youth how to run a sound board, be a stage manager, or costume manager. Art programs will assist youth creativity through multiple artistic mediums. Basic life skills will be taught such as laundry, check writing, car maintenance, etc. Tutoring services will be provided to help students with schoolwork, and the program will work to nurture students individually using the philosophy of Howard Gardner’s multiple intelligences.
